Community Service
LSU gymnastics provides an opportunity to achieve athletic success while also getting a head start on the most important game of all - the game of life. The CHAMPS (Challenging Athletes Minds for Personal Success)/Life Skills program was developed by the NCAA to help prepare student-athletes for the challenges of life beyond the playing field. The Shaquille O’Neal Life skills program at LSU is operated out of the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes, and the program supports and provides resources to help student-athletes in a commitment to academics, personal development, career development and service.
Pennington Doc Dash
The Doc Dash is an annual event benefiting the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Head Coach D-D Breaux served as an emcee at the 2016 event.
Wheels to Succeed
Wheels to Succeed adaptive bike program is a special community program of the McMains Children's Development Center that provides children with physical disabilities their own adapted three-wheeled bikes and opportunities to ride these bikes. The event is hosted by the LSU Gymnastics program.
Blue Ribbon Soiree
The team at the Blue Ribbon Soiree benefiting prostate cancer research. The LSU Gymnastics program also hosts the Blue & Pink Meet to raise awareness for breast and prostate cancer.
St. Vincent De Paul Turkey Carving
Head coach D-D Breaux won the sixth annual St. Vincent de Paul Turkey Carving Contest in 2015. St. Vincent de Paul donated more than 600 turkeys to families around the Baton Rouge area during Thanksgiving.
